ISMART Gallery is pleased to participate again to the West Bund Art & Design from November 10 to 15, 2026, presenting works by ten Chinese and international artists at Booth A202: Ni Zhiqi, Che Jianquan, Xue Yang, Luo Dan, Mythra Schwartz, Jin Jiachen, Gao Xintong, Yakov Khomich, Ni Hao, and Zhou Beite.
ISMART aim to present contemporary practices that span diverse cultural backgrounds, artistic languages, space and media. Centered on painting and complemented by sculpture and moving image, the presentation explores the rich tensions that emerge between individual experience, cultural context, and formal experimentation.
In this presentation, Artist Ni Zhiqi (b.1957,China) transforms discarded materials and everyday objects through a restrained abstract language, reconfiguring them into visual meditations on time and memory. Growing up across multiple countries, Mythra Schwartz(b.1996, Canada) is deeply attuned to transience and displacement. Her work explores the fleeting boundaries between perception, memory, and desire through shadows, reflections, and blurred forms.

Alongside, Gao Xintong(b.1998,China) drawing on the Eastern concept of qiyun—the resonance and vitality of spirit— reinterprets color and line through a contemporary visual language. Yakov Khomich(b.1997, Moscow)’s artworks bring together elements of Primitivism, Pop, and Naïve art, creating a distinctive visual vocabulary that moves freely between cultural references and artistic traditions.
In the same time, ISMART Gallery will present Che Jianquan(b.China)’ s moving-image work Smoke (2023–2024, 19′21″) as part of Moving Image programme in Westbund. The work focuses on the stone sculptures of the Northern Song imperial tombs and their precarious position amid tourism development and industrialization, raising questions about the possibilities of sustainable cultural heritage preservation. The artist participated in the China Pavilion at the 60th Venice Biennial and has long worked primarily with moving image in explores the complex relationships between time, perception, and reality.
